18 Sunday Confessions March 6, 2011

This is a weekly meme started by yours truly as a way to get to share a bit about myself and also learning more about you. Sometimes its about books and book related topics and sometimes it's not. This is all in good fun and I would love it if you would participate.

Today's question is:

What do you do when you're not reading?

I think it's safe to assume that anyone who follows this blog is a big fan of reading. When I'm not reading or working I enjoy spending time with my family. I have little ones and it seems we are on the go a lot. When I'm at home I knit. I can't do anything fancy but I enjoy it. Right now I'm in the process of knitting a blanket.

I've also been enjoying the BBC series Lark Rise to Candleford. If you want to know more about this series, click here. It's an adaptation of Flora Thompson's memoir of her Oxfordshire childhood, set in the small hamlet of Lark Rise and the wealthier neighboring market town, Candleford, at the end of the 19th Century. It has several actors that I adore, including Dawn French (The Vicar of Dibley)  and Brendon Coyle (Downton Abbey, North and South)

So that's what I've been doing lately when I'm not reading. Now it's your turn. What do you do when you're not reading? If you answer this question on your own blog, please leave a link and I'll come visit. Have a great week everyone!

  1. I love Lark Rise to Candleford too! I was really disappointed when they decided to end the series with a shorter season 4 :(

  2. @danya I'm only on season 2 but I love it! I've been getting the series through netflix. I know I'll be sad when it ends. It's such a good series.

  4. When I'm not reading or working on my blog, I'm studying. Literally. Nothing else. Come summer, I will probably get to the gym more, but I don't have much of a life until Law School is over.

  5. I'd love to learn how to knit - I'm a lefty and I get all turned around when anyone tries to teach me. I tried crocheting, but I'm so tense, I end up with knots.

  6. @christy and Barbara, I learned how to knit by reading a "how to" book a few years ago. My grandma crochets and is awesome! I still have a lot to learn. It's very relaxing though.

@Alexis, I completely understand. There have been times in my life that all I had time for was studying. Good luck w/ Law School :D

  11. Hey Marcie,

I have been crocheting most of my life. I tried to knit...took a class at Michael's...it is just too slow for me...and if you make a mistake? So needless to say? I am sticking with what I know. ;0)

  14. I would love to learn how to knit! I've even bought a few how-to books, but still haven't gotten around to trying. :(

When I'm not reading, I'm probably online. Very sad, but it's either that or television. *L*

  15. I really never have wanted to knit or crochet until I found out you can get a scholarship for it. I watched my grandmother and aunt do it.

  18. @Alexa, I learned how to knit using a how to book. It's not as hard as I thought it would be. I usually knit while I watch tv. It's very relaxing, I hope you get to try it :D
@Reader with a voice I didn't know you could get a scholarship for knitting. That's very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
