0 Q&A with Jason J. Sergi

1. Tell our readers about your latest book.

The Forvian Sphere is a science-fiction story--the first of a projected seven--with a mix of various elements: dystopia, steampunk, hard sci-fi, soft sci-fi, and even a touch of military sci-fi. Its centered around the main character, Jacint Gallo, told from his point-of-view as he sets out to find the mythical Saviors (those prophesied to save the world) after the cataclysmic event--known as The Incident--struck his world, nearly destroying it.

But as his quest to find The Saviors unfolds, so do the countless mysteries of the world, a world he thought he knew quite well, but turns out to be nothing like he thought it was.

And all the while, forces beyond his control and imagination are bent on destroying that very world, and every living thing within.

2. What is it about Speculative Fiction that appeals to you?

The ability to answer or attempt to answer the “What ifs?” What if there was a such thing as limitless magic? Parallel worlds? Flying car? Alien visitors? Mind uploads? Rampaging zombies? And the main appeal of that is: there are no wrong answers. So its a win-win for readers and authors alike.

3. What do you think Jacint Gallo would say to you, given the chance?

He would probably say “Why me?” followed by some name calling and a few choice threats. And I wouldn't blame him a bit. His existence isn't exactly a joyful one and I'm pretty much the catalyst to that.

4. What do you like to do when you're not writing?

When I'm not writing I enjoy hanging out with my son as much as possible; if I'm not doing that, I'm probably writing.

5. Where can people find out more about your books?
