Interview with Marissa Dobson and giveaway

Today I am happy to have Marissa Dobson join me. Marissa is the author of The Twelve Seductive Days of Christmas that can be found in the anthology Believe. If you have not read this book you should definitely get yourself a copy.

  1. How were the authors chosen for this collection?
I didn’t have any say over how the author’s were chosen for this collection; that was the publisher Turquoise Morning Press. But my understanding was she picked the best stories out of the submissions for the anthology.

  1. Do you have any holiday traditions?
I don’t know if you could call it a holiday tradition but the only thing that comes to mind is that always buy a Christmas ornament with our names engraved on it and the year.

  1. How did you come up with the idea for The Twelve Seductive Days of Christmas?
The idea for The Twelve Seductive Days of Christmas came to me one night in bed. I was trying to think of something that I could write for the Christmas anthology that I would be able to keep under the word count.

  1. Do you have a favorite author?
I have a number of favorite authors but one that has inspired me the most would have to be Nora Roberts.

  1. Chocolate or Vanilla?
I have to say chocolate.

  1. Elvis or the Beatles?
Honestly, I don’t care for either. But if I had to pick one I would pick Elvis. He was my Grandmother’s favorite so I heard a lot of his songs.

  1. Craziest dream?
Dreams, as in the ones while I am asleep? Well I have a lot of crazy dreams. I wake up screaming a number of times during a month. It is always about bugs or things like that. I hate bugs. When I was younger I had this room that had two closets and in the middle there was a window seat. I woke up all the time screaming that a bus was coming through the window.

  1. What’s your favorite holiday movie?
I don’t really have a favorite holiday movie. I love the holiday movies on Lifetime, because things always work out for the characters. I love a good HEA (Happy Ever After). Also my husband makes us watch Christmas Vacation every year on Christmas Eve (I guess that could have gone up under holiday traditions also).

  1. What is your most romantic Christmas memory?
The most romantic Christmas memory for me, that’s a hard one. The first Christmas I spent me my husband was wonderful, but I have to say last Christmas was the most romantic. We were unable to get to visit family or friends doing Christmas last year because we were snowed in. My husband still made it a wonderful Christmas. We laughed and thought about the past, we played games, and ended the evening cuddle together by the tree, watching it snow. That is a day I will always remember. My husband is very romantic when he wants to be.

  1. What’s next for you?
Anything is possible. But currently I am working on another romance story, and polishing off a paranormal. I have a few other ideas in mind, and if things work out I can start on them soon. If I have my way, you will see a number of books from me in the future.
