Sunday Confessions February 27, 2011
This is a weekly meme started by yours truly as a way to get to share a bit about myself and also learning more about you. Sometimes its about books and book related topics and sometimes it's not. This is all in good fun and I would love it if you would participate.
Are you a moody reader?
I have to admit that I am. I would love to say I can pick up any book at any time and read it but I can't. If there is one book or genre in particular that I am jonesing to read, no other book will do until I've read it. If I try to read another book, I don't find it interesting or entertaining. This doesn't happen to me all the time but it does happen every few months. So what about you?
*If you answer this question on your own blog, please leave a link in the comments so I can come visit.
Awesome! I'm the first one to comment :). Here's my SC for this week:

I don't think I'm a moody reader...! I agree about trying to read a book when I'm thinking about another book!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!

I try to read a lot of different genres, but always come back to YA or historical fiction. But I'm not really moody in that sense.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I am moody when it comes to actually reading. If I can't get into a book by the first two chapters, I put it down and don't come back to it in a few months. It really bothers me when a book looks really good, but I just can't get into it.
Hi - this is my first time doing this one, I saw Christy post her link on Twitter and saw the question and just had to join this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally a moody reader! I get in book funks, genre funks, bad moods when I can't read new books and have to read old ones - I'm awful, lol.
My Sunday Confession Post
@Zakiya, The Book Pages, Christy, and Barbara, Thanks for leaving your link, I'll be by to visit your blogs :D
ReplyDelete@Jenn, I read different genres too. I think that helps me not to get into a reading funk too often. If I can't get into a book in the first few chapters, I usually walk away from it for a while and come back later. Most of the time it's not because the book is bad, it's because I'm not in the mood to read that particular genre. Often when I come back I find that I enjoy the book :D
Sometimes I can be a moody reader, especially if I'm in a funk. I'll need a light, fun read to get me unfunked. *L*
ReplyDeleteOther times I'll be on a genre kick and no other genre will do! Right now, I seem to be on a YA kick, but am trying to break out and read other genres so I don't get into another reading rut.
@Alexia561, I get on genre kicks too. I do try to mix it up quite a bit though. It helps to keep things fresh for me. Fun and light reads are perfect for breaking out of a reading funk :D
ReplyDeleteVery cute question. Please see my response
