Sunday Confessions April, 17, 2011
This is a weekly meme started by yours truly as a way to get to share a bit about myself and also learning more about you. Sometimes its about books and book related topics and sometimes it's not. This is all in good fun and I would love it if you would participate.
This week's question is:
Have you ever been to a book signing?
I have never been to a book signing but I would love to go to one. They look like so much fun. I would love to go and meet some of my favorite authors. I would also like to meet other readers who love the same books that I do. There are so many great authors out there that I would love to meet, if given the chance. I have a hard time just picking one. I would gladly stand in line for the chance to meet Rick Riordan, Charlaine Harris, Cassandra Clare, and Kresley Cole to name a few.
What about you? Have you been to a book signing? Which one? If you haven't been to one, whose would you like to go to?
If you answer this question on your own blog, please leave me a link in the comments so I can come visit.
I've never been to one and I don't know where to go to hear about such events.
ReplyDeleteNever been to one either. There's not much happening close to Sweden and I can't afford travelling to go to one while I'm still studying. I would love to be able to some time though!

I have also not been to one yet - maybe someday!

No. I have never been to a book signing. They sound like so much fun. I have been keeping on an eye on the Barnes and Noble website for for events in my area. Hopefully one day soon.....
ReplyDeleteYes! One. It was a reading and signing of Rita Mae Brown's Claws and Effects back in 2001. I was in middle school at the time.
ReplyDelete@Alexis, You can find out about signings from your local bookstore. Also if you have a favorite author you can check their websites for information on signings. They usually have it listed.
ReplyDelete@ketch, I bet it was thrilling to meet an author when you were in middle school. I'm always happy to hear when authors go to schools. I think it gets kids excited about reading.
@Chris, Bex and Chirzette, I'd have to travel to go to one also. Not as far as you though.
Nope, never have. But I would love to!

Happy Reading!
I've been to 2. Very intimate affairs. No more than 15 people each time. Oh yeah, who was signing books? I confess. 'Twas I signing my baseball novel CHANCE in 1996. And despite the fact that I'm timid and frightened by nature, it was not unfun.
ReplyDeleteI went to a book reading/signing for David Sedaris a couple of years ago. I also went to a signing for Lin Enger (local author). The reading was a lot of fun because you look at a story differently when you can hear the actual author reciting it. I hope you get to attend one in the future! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a signing either! :(

@Steve, it's good to know that authors are just as nervous as your fans.
ReplyDelete@readwritelive, I think that would be so interesting to hear an author read from their novel. That's so cool.
@Jules, I hope we can all go to one in the future.
Happy Sunday Marcie! While my partner Andrea has been to quite a few, I live in a small town and we don't get any authors here. I did travel a few hours this past November to attend a luncheon and signing with Sherrilyn Kenyon. It was amazing! I would love to go to more signings!
