Once upon a time…the Blood Sorcerer vanquished the kingdom of Elden.
To save their children, the queen scattered them to safety and the king filled them with vengeance.
Only a magical timepiece connects the four royal heirs…and time is running out.…
Nicolai the Vampire was renowned for his virility, but in a twist of fate "The Dark Seducer" had become a sex slave in the kingdom of Delfina—stripped of his precious timepiece and his memory. All that remained was a primal need for freedom, revenge—and the only woman who could help him.
In her dreams, a wanton vampire called to Jane Parker, drawing her to his dark sexuality and his magical realm.
But for a human, all was not a fairy tale in Delfina. Jane was the key to Nicolai's memory…but exploiting her meant dooming the only mortal he craved.

I'm a fan of Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series so when I came across this novel I was intrigued. The Royal House of Shadows novels are each written by different paranormal authors. There are four siblings, each will get their own story. This is a really interesting concept for this series.
Lord of the Vampires by Gena Showalter focuses on the oldest of the siblings, Nicolai. He's  a prince who has been trapped in the kingdom of Delfina by evil witches. Nicolai doesn't remember much of his life before but he knows with out a doubt he has a higher purpose. Nicolai uses what little power he has to summon someone from the outside world that can set him free.
Jane dreams of a handsome vampire that she can't get enough of. So when a mysterious book is delivered to her doorstep it could be the answer to everything she hopes for. This book literally transports her to Nikolai. Together they must find a way to escape the clutches of the evil witches while fighting obstacles that stand in the way of their freedom and their love.
This is an okay story. I thought the story line was good. It had action and romance plus a bit of mystery. Jane is a good character. She is recovering from a car accident that killed her family. She's not surprised that Nikolai is a vampire because she's worked with the paranormal before.  Nikolai is a bit of a rouge who plans on just using Jane to escape but his plans change after he meets Jane in person. The romance between the two gets a little steamy but both know a relationship together might not be possible. These two characters have good chemistry.
Overall the book was good. I like the action and adventure as well as the romance. The only thing that is not my cup of tea is the sexual abuse that happens in this novel. Jane and Nikolai both encounter situations that made my skin crawl. While I have some issues with this first book, I'm still interested in reading the second book in this series.
