Goodreads Summary:
Now an apprentice magician, Rose is asked to help find a very special missing person

Turning the worn pages of her spell book, Rose can't believe how much her life has changed. Once a poor orphan, she is now an apprentice to the king's chief magician. But when the country's beloved princess vanishes, everything changes. As rumors of dark magic fly through the city, the king asks Rose for help. She must find the missing princess, before all is lost.

My thoughts:
Last year I fell in love with Rose for the first time. Now, I've fallen all over again with Holly Webb's new book, Rose and the Lost Princess. In this book, Rose has become the apprentice to Mr. Fountain. She still wants to keep up her duties as a housemaid. Unfortunately the rest of the staff is uncomfortable with her magic. Not only that, but when an unseasonable snow starts to fall and one of the princesses disappears, magicians come under scrutiny.  Almost to the point of persecution. Freddie, Mr. Fountain, and Rose are called to help save the Princess from an invisible attacker. If they fail the consequences could be dire.

The world and characters that Holly Webb has created is truly magical--pun intended. Rose is endearing, and the more I get to 'know' her the more I fall in love with her. She is sweet, honest, and hard working. She's unsure if she really wants the powers that life has given her, but she doesn't want to waste an opportunity to learn either. I also love Gus. He's Mr. Fountain's talking cat. There's more to him than meets the eye. He also has a fondness for Rose.

Rose and her many adventures will appeal to all ages. I would recommend that you read Rose (Rose #1) first. It will help you understand her character more. But I will warn you, you will become addicted. I love this series and recommend it to everyone. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. I can't wait for the next book!
