Last Week In Review

Last week was my first week back at work since taking time off. It went okay, except I was still a bit tired. I decided to ease back in to other aspects of my life . . . like blogging. So thank you to all who have stuck with me.

What I'm Reading

There are two books I'm currently reading: Burning Midnight by Will McIntosh and Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling. I started reading Burning Midnight before my MIL went into the hospital and put it aside because I couldn't really focus on anything. I'm sort of reluctant to pick it back up--not that I wasn't enjoying it--but because it's associated with a stressful and painful period in my life. But I've resolved to get back into it this week.

I'm listening to the audio book Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling. Which I highly recommend. This book wasn't on top of my TBR pile, but after the last few weeks, I needed to laugh, smile, and be amused, and I knew Mindy would deliver. I enjoyed her last book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), as well as watching her on The Office and The Mindy Project. And since The Mindy Project is currently on hiatus, I decided this would be a good time to get my Mindy fix.

What I'm Watching

This week was a bittersweet week in saying goodbye to Downton Abbey. I have truly loved watching this for the last six seasons. In celebration, I bought The Republic Of Tea Downton Abbey Limited Edition Legacy Tea, 36 Tea Bags, Plum Pudding Dessert Tea to drink while I watched the series finale. Which, by the way, left me all warm and fuzzy.

I've started to re-watch Gilmore Girls on Netflix. So far, I'm only halfway through season one. I've been so excited since hearing the news that Netflix is bringing the series back that I've been thinking about re-watching for a while now. I just hope they get Melissa McCarthy on board. It wouldn't be the same without her.

I've also been catching up on missed episodes of iZombie. For those who do not know me, you should know I don't care for zombies much at all. But I love this show. I think it's partly because it's created by Rob Thomas, who also created Veronica Mars--which I also love. Did anyone catch that Keith Mars was on last week's episode?

A New Project

This project is something I've been thinking about for a while now. I want to read books from around the world. Most of the books I read are from the US, and lately I've been wanting to broaden my horizons, so to speak. So I'm going to do it! I'm going to challenge myself to read as many books that I can from all over the world. And if you have any book suggestions, I'd love to hear them because I need recommendations.

That's my week in review. I hope you had a good week wherever you are. And if you didn't, I hope this week brings you more joy.
